On my logo and embodiment

One of my first clients was a young woman with energy and anxiety issues. For our first session, I combined Wholeness Work with massage. After that three-hour journey, I saw someone whose before and after facial expressions had completely changed. She had been literally transformed and, sitting peacefully in her chair with a cup of tea, she looked glowing and calm, illuminated by a radiant presence. We were both as surprised about what had happened. And I realized that this is what I wanted for all of my clients. Even though there’s nothing that can be forced in this work, embodiment is the goal.

Therefore my logo.

logo embodiment

The rectangular shape symbolizes the body.

The circle symbolizes thought and emotions. They exist in and (energetically) around the body. Self, ‘the I’, identifies most of the time with these thoughts and emotions. This is for most of us the normal condition and it’s a recipe for a rollercoaster ride since thoughts and emotions do change all the time. Though fleeting, thoughts and feelings are experienced in the moment as solid and as ‘self’. Many spiritual disciplines can explain identification with this constantly changing perception of the I more in-depth and more elegantly than I am able to.

And then, at certain moments, the sensation of Self is simply that: Thoughts and emotions are witnessed and recognized as ‘in us’, and not as ‘being us’. We feel grounded and calm. Thoughts did not disappear, but the level at which identification happens changed.
The centered small circle symbolizes the Self in this condition: cool, calm, and collected.

Body, spirit, and mind need to be grounded. Spirituality is not meant as escapism from daily life after all. This is why the circle sits on the floor.
